China – Linfen, the most polluted town in the world
According to the World Bank, China is home to 16 of the world’s 20 most polluted cities. Linfen in Shanxi province is the one with the worst air pollution. His economic dependence on the coal, steel and tar industries has led to rising cases of bronchitis, pneumonia, lung cancer and an epidemic of arsenicosis. Therefore, Linfen was rated as the most polluted town in the world.
