Settled in the centre of Chamonix, the Aiguille du Midi cable car is the Europe’s highest one, the second in the world. It holds the record as the highest vertical ascent cable car in the world, from 1,038m to 3,776m. The cable car annually carries 500,000 passengers (1/5th during the month of August) to admire one of the most beautiful French panoramas. A technological feat that is still subject to the security of passengers: a high-risk challenge for the men who operate a myth.

Depuis quelques années on constate une recrudescence des habitations dites « sauvages » dans la nature. Certes la crise oblige les plus démunis à se débrouiller avec leurs maigres moyens pour trouver un toit, mais un grand nombre de ces nouveaux habitants s’inscrit dans une logique contre notre société de consommation. Une éthique écologique bien affichée dans le respect de l’environnement où ils préfèrent élire domicile. Mais l’administration ne l’entend pas de cette oreille, il est vrai qu’un vide juridique existe pour ces nouvelles habitations.

Traversant quelques-uns des paysages les plus admirables de l’île,le trinichellu, le train corse, offre à ses voyageurs un splendide périple avec pour seul souci d’admirer le panorama qui défile par la fenêtre. Long de seulement 232 kilomètres, l’itinéraire ferroviaire qui parcourt la Corse traverse pourtant l’île de part en part, reliant ainsi les villages perchés sur l’épine dorsale montagneuse à la côte méditerranéenne. Un superbe itinéraire prétexte à la découverte de l’île et de toutes ses beautés. Avec affection, on le surnomme encore le Trinichellu, « le tremblotant », en souvenir des soubresauts que les locomotives faisaient autrefois subir à ses passagers. Depuis, les vieilles machines à vapeur ont été remplacées par des autorails modernes, mais le surnom, lui, est resté. Fidèle, le Trinichellu a aussi gardé ses airs de train Playmobil et l’atmosphère conviviale de son réseau ferroviaire.

For 2000 years, archeological objects of an inestimable value have been sleeping in the river bed of the Rhone River underneath the quay of the historic city of Arles, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A team of archeologists and divers has been digging patiently in these dark waters since twenty years in order to return their discoveries to the light of day.They are being presented to the public for the first time in the exhibition « César, le Rhône pour mémoire », the happy ending to an adventure story of a determined scientific quest in a battle against the ever-charging currents of a capricious river.
