Although Parisian for a long time now, Kenzo remains strongly attached to his mother country. He tells us about the places of his childhood, other places he’s fallen in love with and also gives us the address of the sublime ryokan, where he likes to take refuge and regenerate himself. He leads us on a subtle journey full of nuance, mainly in Kyoto, where the designer renews with his roots.

One of the world’s most incredible water park in the heart of Beijing

The « Water Cube » – Beijing olympic swimming pool – was specially created for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Its blue plastic bubble-like outside look is now emblematic in the whole country and for every Chinese just like other very symbolic monuments. But since the end of the chinese Olympics, the Beijing municipal government has tried its best to find a way and make this complex commercially viable and recently placed their hope in a rather astonishing water park. The « Happy Magic Water Cube » or « Beijing Magic Water Park » is now set up in the southern part of the Cube and is welcoming an emerging urban elite which can afford around 18 Euros (150 RMB) to get in, which remains for most chinese a lot of money.

The little known Saiga Antelope runs across the steppes for its survival. Its population dropped from over a million in the beginning of the 1990’s,to less than 50 000 in 2003. But the brave little saiga has not said its lastword yet…and the international scientific community is seriously handling this issue now.

Hazaribagh is one of the most polluted areas in the world. Tanneries discharge their toxic products every day above the capital Dhaka. Meat and bone meal farms provide all the Bangladesh ranches. Three quarters of men who work there die before fifty years-old. A dramatic situation at the terminus of rural exodus.

We are right in the heart of Mongolia, an immense steppe that covers an area as great as Germany, Italy and France together. For a population of 2.5 million, the country counts a livestock population of more than 25 million, called the five muzzles: sheep, goats, cows and yaks, camels and, of course, horses. This latter is omnipresent in the life of the Mongolians since centuries ago when their ancestors, the Hunnu (Attila…), struck fear into half the world. Today, the country is slowly opening up to tourism. It is indisputably the last nomad country where more than half the population lives on the steppe and the traveler can mix with this ancestral way of life in harmony with a strong nature.
