Parution Allemagne – NATUR – Le peuple renne de Donna Todd

Le magnifique reportage de Donna Todd sur le peuple renne parait dans le magazine allemand NATUR:

White Nature.

This feature story is an invitation to witness special moments, mostly photographed near where Vincent Munier lives high on the humped back of the Vosges and some taken during his recent travels around the Artic Circle. In both cases, the inital objective was the same: to slip into the skin of each animal to understand and approach it, sense its feelings and reactions in the most extreme moments. With perfection in mind, he went looking for a blizzard and the blizzard took hold of him. On the island of Hokkaido with cranes and whooper swans; in the Scandinavian tundra with musk oxen; in the vast Canadian plains where the majestic lives.

Parution Norvège – VG7- L’Egypte Interdite par Cyril le Tourneur d’Ison

L’Egypte Interdite par Cyril le Tourneur d’Ison dans .

The mysterious kingdoms of the Nile.

In the words of French writer, Olivier Rolin, « More truly and mysteriously than Egypt, is the realm of this fabled river ». The magnetic beauty of North bears a resemblance to what Egypt was a century ago, before industrialisation and tourism took over. A country whose people are exceptionally open and warm. There are few roads leading northwards from Khartoum following the path of the Nile, and conditions are tough. The region is extraordinarily rich in archaeological heritage: on 11 January 2003 seven monumental statues of kings of the 25th dynasty were discovered in Kerma by members of the Swiss mission led by Charles Bonnet. But the 20 years of conflict Muslims in the north and Christians in the south, and the current massacre in the Darfur region, have sadly done nothing to develop the country’s heritage. The building of a dam on the 4th cataract is now threatening to destroy some exceptional and still little-known sites.
