The Bai: the quest for Shuimohashi
The Bai: the quest for Shuimohashi. Surrounding Erhai lake, live one of the 26 ethnic minorities of the Yunnan, the Bai. Peaceful and hard working, they are known for their warm welcome and above all for their marble.
This marble from Dali which all the rich houses of Asia are orned with. The temperature is warm as usual and the sun just starting to shine on the flanks of the Cangshan, whose summit will be covered by snow for another few weeks still. In the main street already awake, a few sleepy heads are still finishing their breakfast of noodles and sweet bread. Everything seems ordinary, however there is a feeling of excitement: car horns, an every day sound, are getting more and more intense. The traffic which usually goes from the north to the south is running from the west to the east today. An atmosphere of celebration is overcoming the town.
