For the , there is no such thing as harmony if the body does not seduce the soul. With filed teeth, tattooed skins, and hair decorated with spiked flowers, these hunters worship elegance. But on Siberut, a lost island off the coast of Sumatra, how long will they be able to salvage their traditions and way of life?

233-12: The Mentawai love to adorn themselves with flowers. They believe that body decoration is a way to please and keep the soul. 233-29: TukaÕs mother leads the women of the clan during night fishing. The light from the torches will attract small fish, shrimp and frogs--all-important components for protein in their diet. The hunting party is reserved for special occasions only-- in this case because of a deceasednewborn. The hunters leave the Uma for a couple of days, going deep into the rain forest.
